Our new featured student is: Jasmine Dean
Jasmine has been such a privilege to have here at Hoosier Taekwondo ever since the first day as a Little Tiger. She’s always kind, respectful and sharing her cheerful spirit. She’s shown such great dedication and determination. She’s an amazing role model and we’re proud to have her here. We’re excited to see what the future has in store for her.

From the parents:
We signed Jasmine up for a free taekwondo lesson during the summer between kindergarten and first grade. She struggled a bit with trying new things, but when asked if she wanted to try a “ninja lesson”, it was an adamant yes! Little did we know when we walked in that day that TKD was about to become a new passion, and her love for the sport has not faded 4 years down the road.
As her parents, we really did not understand what TKD entailed. We thought that we would be getting her out of the house, keeping her active, and maybe she would learn a little self defense down the road. But it’s been so much more than that. Taekwondo focuses on essential life skills such as perseverance, discipline, hard work and respect for oneself and others. We have watched our shy little girl blossom into someone who is not afraid to try, has become much more confident and doesn’t hesitate to help others who are struggling.
She has also learned how to fail and and how to use failure as an opportunity to grow.
Jasmine’s favorite parts of TKD are Dodgeball, board breaking, sparring and the friendships that she’s made along the way. She feels that the biggest lessons that she has taken home have been to never give up and how to be a more confident leader. She also loves that she is learning self-defense. She always looks forward to her lessons.
We are extremely grateful to Master Nick, Constance and Hoosier Taekwondo for being such a positive influence on Jasmine.
