At Hoosier Taekwondo we also offer a number of annual events such as tournaments, training camps, black belt seminars and business seminars! Hoosier Taekwondo is also a proud member of The United States Tae Kwon Do Association!

The main emphasis of the program at Hoosier Taekwondo is founded on creating RESPECT and DISCIPLINE within each student! Within the Taekwondo instruction respect is a necessary element that is taught by bowing to anyone who holds a higher belt as well as listening and obeying all requests from the instructor without any question.

Another added benefit of Hoosier Taekwondo is that it will build CHARACTER and CONFIDENCE in your child by providing them with control of their body along with the power and ability to protect and defend themselves against peer pressure or any other intimidating circumstances they may face. Learning the movements of Taekwondo will help your child develop MOTOR SKILLS as well as COORDINATION which will help them to improve their overall FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH! This is a very important factor during the formative childhood years!

By being awarded the higher levels of Taekwondo belts as they progress and improve each child will feel a sense of ACCOMPLISHMENT and ACHIEVEMENT. This important element of Taekwondo is a great way to teach children about the importance of setting a goal and sticking with it. In order to encourage each child along the way we award stripes onto the belts to show the improvement that the child has made on their current belt; this is an essential step since it can take between two to six months to achieve a new belt.

Teaching children the importance of training for these tests and in turn passing them will enhance each child’s ability to CONCENTRATE which can help them to plan for goals in the future in a way that will help them to overcome any learning hurdles they may face. Participating in a training program here at Hoosier Taekwondo can help to reinforce STUDY HABITS which will in turn help the child to improve at school!

The core purpose of Taekwondo is for SELF DEFENSE! Taekwondo is the best martial art for self defense! One of the main benefits of participating in a Taekwondo training class is the SELF CONFIDENCE that your child will gain. A child who has self-confidence will not need to show off or bully other students because they are confident and secure in their own abilities!

Participating in Taekwondo is FUN for children and adults alike which can enhance individual talents and allow the abundance of childhood energy to be channeled in a POSITIVE way!

We here at Hoosier Taekwondo are available to answer any and all questions that you may have; so feel free to ask! While we offer classes to people of all ages we strongly believe that children can benefit greatly for the rest of their lives from participating in Taekwondo!

Sincerely,

Master Iva E. (Nick) Nicholas
